L’Opera lirica al pianoforte – The Opera on the piano
Due musiciste italiane a New York Elena Buttiero e Anita Frumento, musiciste italiane provenienti dalla Liguria, sono le protagoniste del concerto “Quattro mani all’Opera!”. L’evento è promosso dalla Associazione Allegro con Moto di Savona in collaborazione con i “Friends of Maple Grove” di New York.
Nel mese di dicembre 2023 il canto lirico italiano è stato dichiarato patrimonio culturale dell’umanità dall’UNESCO (Agenzia Culturale delle Nazioni Unite).
Il concerto vuole rendere omaggio allo straordinario mondo dell’Opera lirica italiana con un viaggio alla scoperta dei più grandi operisti attraverso le quattro mani delle pianiste Elena Buttiero e Anita Frumento.
Durante il concerto verranno eseguite musiche di Giuseppe Verdi, Gioacchino Rossini, Francesco Cilea, Umberto Giordano e Pietro Mascagni. Il recital si svolgerà a New York Sabato 30 Marzo 2024 per i “Friends of Maple Grove” nella Celebration Hall del Center alle ore 16.00 (127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, NY 11415). Elena Buttiero e Anita Frumento svolgono da anni attività di ricerca in campo musicologico.
Molti gli spettacoli da loro prodotti dal 2009 ad oggi: “Italia 900: parole e musica del secolo breve”; “Suoni futuri. Omaggio al Futurismo”; “L’Italia nella Grande Guerra: parole e musica tra il 1915 e il 1918” (con il patrocinio della Presidenza del Consiglio dei Ministri); “Non sembiava imagine che tace” (con il patrocinio del Ministero Beni culturali); “Quella sagoma di Dante.
Tre donne alle prese con l’Alighieri”, spettacolo musicale/teatrale. Elena Buttiero, diplomata in pianoforte presso il Conservatorio di Torino, ha tenuto concerti in molte città italiane, in Svizzera, Germania, Irlanda, Francia, Repubblica Ceca, Serbia, Romania, Stati Uniti, Canada, Tanzania, Argentina e Uruguay. Ha registrato i cd Continental Reel e A Cheap Present in qualità di arpista con la formazione Birkin Tree. Con il mandolinista Carlo Aonzo ha effettuato tre tournée negli Stati Uniti e pubblicato due cd: Il mandolino italiano nel Settecento dedicato al repertorio barocco per mandolino e spinetta e Fantasia poetica con repertorio romantico per mandolino e pianoforte.
Nel 2009 il Duo ha ottenuto il Premio Regionale Ligure per la sez. Cultura, indetto dalla Regione Liguria. Ha pubblicato il cd Arethusa Consortium con repertorio per due arpe celtiche e plettri, il cd Saluti dall’Italia e Lontano nel mondo – Storia di Luigi Tenco con Ferdinando Molteni. Nel 2021 ha pubblicato il cd La ghironda alla corte di Francia con Francesco Giusta. Nel campo della didattica ha pubblicato per l’editore Carisch/Hal Leonard metodi di solfeggio e pianoforte. È direttrice artistica della Associazione Allegro con Moto e della Associazione Mozart Savona. Anita Frumento ottiene il Diploma Accademico di secondo livello in Pianoforte e Musica da Camera con il massimo dei voti e la lode presso il Conservatorio di Genova e il Conservatorio di Piacenza. Ha approfondito il repertorio cameristico e contemporaneo con Leonardo Bartelloni, Mario Caroli, Luisa Castellani, il Trio Debussy presso l’Accademia di Musica di Pinerolo, Rico Gubler e Fabien Thouand. Vincitrice di numerosi Concorsi Internazionali, ha partecipato ad importanti rassegne nazionali ed internazionali.
In duo con la pianista Elena Buttiero svolge da molti anni attività di ricerca in ambito musicologico, in particolare rivolta alla scoperta e valorizzazione del repertorio per pianoforte a quattro mani, esibendosi regolarmente in Italia e all’estero. È pianista e membro direttivo dell’APS Nuovi Contesti Sonori di Clusone (Bg), dove è attivamente partecipe in attività concertistica e didattica e nella realizzazione di spettacoli originali. Da sempre dedita all’insegnamento ed alla formazione ha ottenuto il Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy presso il Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana di Lugano. Insegna presso il Centro Artistico MAT di Lugano (Svizzera) ed è docente di pianoforte di ruolo presso il Liceo Musicale di Albenga (Sv).

Two Italian musicians in New York Elena Buttiero e Anita Frumento, Italian musicians from Liguria, are the protagonists of the concert “Opera for piano four hands”.
The event is promoted by the Allegro con Moto Association of Savona in collaboration with the “Friends of Maple Grove” of New York.
In December 2023 The Practice of Opera Singing in Italy was declared on the Intangible Heritage list of Umanity Site by UNESCO (United Nations Cultural Agency).
The concert pays tribute to the extraordinary world of Opera with a journey to discover the greatest Italian opera composers through the four hands of pianists Elena Buttiero and Anita Frumento. During the concert, music by Giuseppe Verdi, Gioacchino Rossini, Francesco Cilea, Umberto Giordano and Pietro Mascagni will be performed. The recital will take place in New York on Saturday 30 March 2024 for the “Friends of Maple Grove” in the Center’s Celebration Hall at 4.00 pm (127-15 Kew Gardens Road, Kew Gardens, NY 11415). Elena Buttiero e Anita Frumento have been carrying out research in the musicological field for many years, in particular aimed at the discovery and enhancement of the repertoire for piano four hands.
There are many shows staged from 2009 to today: “Italy ‘900: words, images and music of the short century”; “Future Sounds. A musical journey into Futurism”; “Italy in the Great War: words, figures and music between 1915 and 1918” (Official program of the commemorations of the Centenary of the First World War by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers); “Non sembiava imagine che tace” (with the patronage of the National Committee for the celebration of the 700th anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage), “Quella sagoma di Dante.
Tre donne alle prese con l’Alighieri”, theatrical and musical show. Elena Buttiero, graduated in piano at the Turin’s Conservatoire ‘G. Verdi’, she held concerts in several Italian cities, Switzerland, Germany, Ireland, France, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, United States, Canada, Tanzania, Argentine and Uruguay. She published two CD’s as harpist with Birkin Tree: Continental Reel and A Cheap presen’. With Carlo Aonzo, she published Il mandolino italiano nel Settecento and Fantasia poetica. During 2009, the Duo was awarded with the Ligurian Region Price, Cultural section, from Liguria Region. In 2012, she recorded the CD Arethusa Consortium for two Celtic harps repertoire and plectrums, Saluti dall’Italia in 2013 and Lontano nel mondo in 2015 devoted to Luigi Tenco’s songs. In 2021 she published the CD The Baroque HurdyGurdy at the French Royal Court with Francesco Giusta. In the didactic field she published for Carisch/Hal Leonard editor the solfege method Il Centone, the piano method Primo Piano, the Piano Antologia and the Antologia pianistica a 4 mani. She is the artistic director of the Mozart Savona Association and of the Allegro con Moto Association. Anita Frumento obtained the Second Level Academic Diploma in Piano and Chamber Music with full marks and honors at the Conservatory of Genoa and the Conservatory of Piacenza. Winner of numerous competitions, she has participated in important national and international exhibitions. She has been carrying out research in the musicological field for many years in duo with the pianist Elena Buttiero, in particular aimed at the discovery and enhancement of the repertoire for piano four hands, performing regularly in Italy and abroad. She is a pianist and managing member of the APS Nuovi Contesti Sonori of Clusone (Bg), where she actively participates in concert and teaching activities and in the creation of original shows. Always dedicated to teaching and training, she obtained the Master of Arts in Music Pedagogy at the Conservatory of Italian Switzerland in Lugano. She teaches at the MAT Artistic Center in Lugano (Switzerland) and she is a tenured piano teacher at the Liceo Musicale of Albenga (Sv).
